How do I use PaintCandy Photoshop Textures and Photoshop Overlays?
Great question - we've written out some concise instructions and also provided a couple examples of how to use various products that we have to offer. For all of our Overlay and Texture downloadable assets, you can use these same methods of applying different effects on top of your photographs. We actually encourage you to browse all of our instructional slideshows and videos - especially the ones from our actions instructions - since they each offer unique tips and tricks to help the learning curve and become more comfortable with Photoshop.
All downloads will be delivered as a zipped folder.

Unzip or extract the folder

Open your image to be modified
-
File --> Place (embedded) the PaintCandy texture

Readjust so that it covers the area you need it to. TIP: Sometimes expanding the overlay beyond the edges, rotating, transforming, or flipping the texture will create a more ideal effect

Click the green arrow to place the image

Change the blending mode from default of "normal" to whatever works best TIP: Usually screen, overlay, and hard light are good places to start experimenting

Adjust opacity of the texture layer for best effect.

Don't forget to use opacity and other photoshop tools like the eraser to make your image perfect!

Some creative artists then go on to either duplicate the layer with different tweaks or mix-and-match items from various collections for truly amazing digital masterpeices.
